Diversifying Your Practice and Inner Circle


Course Description
Held live on December 1, 2021, this webinar addresses the need for diversity in the workplace as well as one's inner circle. Panelists discuss topics pertaining to increasing the dialogue of diversity in one's own practice as well as in one's own private life, as well as how to engage colleagues and friends in activities that can promote acceptance and understanding of different backgrounds ethnicities cultures genders and sexual orientation.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to:
  • Summerize the need for cultural competency and boradening one's diversity understanding and the importance of diversity when hiring staff and physicians in a practice.
  • Recongize the need to make your practice more inclusive to all patients.
  • Formulate a strategy for engaging your colleagues, friends, and family in a dialogue about diversity.

Corey Hartman, MD
Moderator

Dr. Hartman is the founder and medical director of the Skin Wellness Dermatology in Birmingham, Alabama. He is also the assistant clinical professor of Dermatology at the University of Alabama at Birminghamd School of Medicine Department of Dermatology.

Anthony Rossi, MD
Moderator

Dr. Rossi is a board-certified dermatologist specializing in micrographic surgery and laser and cosmetic dermatology. He is also full time faculty at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at Weill Cornell Dermatology.

Jody Comstock, MD
Panelist

Dr. Comstock is board-certified in both dermatology and pediatrics. Dr. Comstock is also the Cosmetic Medical Director for US Dermatology Partners and an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at the University of Arizona. As a pioneer in the field of cosmetic procedural dermatology, Dr. Comstock remains dedicated to transformational leadership and to being actively engaged in delivering on her vision for patients.

Sabrina Fabi, MD
Panelist

Dr. Fabi is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained cosmetic dermatologist, who is an assistant clinical professor at the University of California, San Diego. She is an associate and associate research director at Goldman Butterwick Fitzpatrick Groff & Fabi, Cosmetic Laser Dermatology, and is actively involved in multiple injectable, laser, and sclerotherapy clinical trials.

Kavita Mariwalla, MD
Panelist

Dr. Mariwalla is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship trained Mohs surgeon. She is the founder of Mariwalla Dermatology in West Islip, NY, which was been nominated yearly for the "Best of Long Island" since its ineption in 2012.

Janelle Vega, MD
Panelist

Dr. Vega is a board-certified dermatologist practicing at Mayoral Dermatology in Coral Gables, and Co-Founder of BIA Life. Her main focus is on cosmetic dermatology including injectables and lasers and has an active social media presence.
